Something smells good

I wanted to write about my favourite perfumes for a long time and now I think it’s the time as I got a new perfume as a gift from my mum. Before I start I would like to make clear that during the economic crisis I don’t want to show off my perfumes, I only want to share my love about them. I haven’t bought an expensive  perfume this year and I have been wise enough to buy some other cheap perfumes for every day use or even try some samples I was given.

First I would like to introduce you to my eternal love, this is Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan.

A very soft, powdery scent, exactly what I look for in a perfume. I’ve been using it for more than a decade, so I can say this is MY perfume. To be honest with you though, I haven’t been thouroughly faithful to it as I have also tried other perfumes through all these years. I like the scent, but sometimes I want something a little more noticeable. This isn’t a perfume for everyone, it’s only for those who choose delicate scents.

I already mentioned that my mum gave me a perfume for my birthday. When she told me she had bought me one, I was really worried it was’t going to be one I would like. She usually buys perfumes because she likes their bottles! I tried it on, I got disappointed the first minute and thought it was one more perfume that I’m not going to use, but after that minute I loved it. It was really my type. I like it so much that it may be the one I’m wearing on my wedding. So, John Galliano is my new love.

Next is a perfume I first bought a few years ago and loved it, but the second bottle has remained on my shelf for a long time. A little heavier than my favourite ones, but it must be very popular as many times I can smell it on others. This is a special edition of Lolita Lempicka I bought with a mirror.
Another perfume that I have really loved is Inside by Trussardi, but I try to get over it because I have been told that it’s discontinued. I hope that’s not true because I would love to buy it again. I’m not using it now because I don’t want it to finish. Maybe it is the sweetest thing I have ever smelt. It smells like candy.

Another sad story as a few months ago I was thinking of bying this perfume again, but I was told again it is discontinued. I have only asked one store, so I can’t be really sure.  L’eau cheap and chic by Moschino is a very girly perfume, but I have also heard people saying the opposite. I have received compliments wearing it.
Emporio Armani is a perfume I bought when I wanted to find something a little more intense. It’s what I like in a heavier way. Not a perfume I would wear every day, but appropriate for special occasions.

Next is another perfume I didn’t love at first sight. When I first tried it, I thought it was a man’s perfume. Some time later I fell for it. You can smell it for hours after using it and although it is a little strong I like it when I want to be in the centre of attention. Blu by Bulgari is one of my favourites too.
Last year my parents went to Paris so this is a miniature my mum bought for me. An interesting scent, maybe a little old-fashioned, but I like it. I haven’t used it much because it’s very small and I don’t want to finish it. It is my Paris perfume. It’s called Reverence and it’s got a very beautiful bottle.
Last but not least is a perfume I bought at Easter. I wanted a new perfume like crazy, but I didn’t want to spend much money. I bought this perfume to use it every day without worrying of running out as it was very cheap. When I was younger I had another perfume of this brand in pink colour. It’s Gold-issime by UDV.
What’s your favourite perfume? Is there a powdery one you think I would love?
