Don’t wear a particular trend if you don’t like it

Keeping up with the latest fashion trends is what the majority of girls are trying to accomplish these days, which is basically why uniformity has become quite common – both in the fashion industry, and on the streets. This approach is completely wrong, first of all because it simply isn’t possible that all those trends can perfectly fit your personal style. Besides that, a lot of garments that are currently trendy are basically designed just for the runway and fashion shows, and aren’t really wearable on a daily basis, so stop following the trends blindly and you’ll see an instant improvement.

Invest in staple pieces you’ll wear all the time

Basic pieces like a quality pair of jeans, a classic leather jacket, black and white T-shirts, designer bags, and a pair of red flats are absolute musts when it comes to any girl’s wardrobe, so be sure you get all of them in the following year. Stop spending your money on garments you’ll wear only once or twice before tossing them away, and think thoroughly before making a final decision. Coming up with the right shopping strategy is a great way to start, so make a list of things you really need and purchase only those you’ll wear all the time. These are the items worth the investment!

Think in advance and shop off season

Even though looking for a winter coat in July and searching for a perfect bikini in January seem more than silly, the truth is that shopping off season can be extremely beneficial. You really don’t have to worry simply because you can find some fabulous stylish pieces at really reasonable prices, which is more than great for your budget. That’s exactly why you should think in advance and get affordable yet extremely fashionable items off season. As already stated, winter is the perfect time to find a top-notch swimsuit for upcoming summer, without having to try it out in the store. Just search for trendy swimwear online and get it done in just a few clicks!

Resist the lure of a sale and stop buying unnecessary things

Everyone knows that the holiday season is a fantastic opportunity to shop till you drop, especially because the majority of stores offer really attractive sales. This means that you’re highly likely to spend much more money than you planned, and breaking the bank definitely shouldn’t be among your New Year’s resolutions. So, give your best to resist the lure of a sale, both during the festive season and all year round, and stop buying unnecessary things that will just make a mess in your wardrobe. Instead, learn to shop smarter and buy only pieces you need, and break your impulse shopping habit for good.

Don’t be afraid to experiment

Sticking to what we already know is completely natural and people usually tend to stick to their comfort zone. That’s why many girls are afraid to experiment and try something that doesn’t really agree with their personal style – at least not at first sight. Of course, we don’t say that you should immediately switch to a completely different appearance and aesthetics – take smaller steps instead and start by introducing some bold accessories or brighter colors to your everyday outfits. If you feel that these complement your appearance, you can always further upgrade your look. On the other hand, if they don’t, just get back to the basics and you’ll be fine!

Each of these five New Year’s resolutions is essential if you want to become more fashion-forward in 2018, so be persistent and stick to them no matter what. Once you see that your personal style is improving, you’ll understand the importance of our words!

  2. I do have fashion resolutions this year!!! I liked your tips, but normally I am not prone to buy on sales, and I don’t really wear trends – normally I wear things that come into trend much before. Like velvet, I wear it since I was a child, or now it seems dresses over pants will be trends – I wear that for years. Trends, in fact, are made just for people to spend money. That is my concern – I don’t want to spend on unnecessary things, like you stated. I have a huge number of bags and shoes and pants and etc that I never wore, and so, why have I bought these things? It’s a shame, so I am planning to be more mature this year 🙂 I loved the post! Hugs!
