What You Need to Be Ready for Swimming When the Weather Warms Up

It’s never too early to start thinking about the summer. Beyond crash diets and exercise programs promising to help you get your beach body, you’ll also want to make sure that you have the items you need to make your trips to the pool, beach, or splash park more enjoyable. By buying early and stocking up you can save a few dollars and be the first to get your hands on the hottest items for the summer. So, invest in a decent cooler and a funky new tote but don’t forget to pick up these warm-weather must-haves.

Sunblock

Protecting your skin against the harmful UV rays of the sun is important all year round. For most people, any sunscreen with an SPF above 15 is fine. If you happen to have sensitive, fair skin then you may want try a number of brands until you find one that is SPF 30 and suits your skin’s needs. Also, be aware that many sunblock types contain pore-clogging oils. For the best care of your skin, look for sunblock that is non-comedogenic.

Sunglasses

When you choose Tom Ford sunglasses there are a number of points you want to consider. First, let’s talk about size. Bigger is better in this case. You want lenses that cover as much of your face as possible. Consider wrap-around glasses if you can get your hands on them and pull them off. Also, look for the tag that says 100% UV protection. Remember that polarized lenses cut glare, which is important if you’ll be driving or reading. Despite what you may think, the color or darkness of the lenses doesn’t really matter, so feel free to buy the yellow or pink lenses.

Swimsuit

There is no bikini season without the bikinis. If you are the type of person who runs to the pool at the first sign of warm weather then buying two high-quality swimsuits should be at the top of your list. I recommend buying two to avoid needing to replace your swimsuit in the middle of the season. If two pieces are your thing, then being able to mix and match pieces is an added bonus, creating four poolside looks instead of just two.

Beach Accessories

Buying pool accessories before the warm weather arrives may be a little tricky but it is definitely cheaper. Beach towels, sandals, swim shoes, and goggles can be purchased year-round online and in specialty shops. Make a list of your beach/pool-side essentials and begin stocking up now.

Make the most of the warm weather by being prepared early. While you may not need these items before spring heats up, you’ll often find that prices rise with demand. Act now and be prepared to get your feet wet with the very beginning of the season by buying now!
