After trying a sample, I set my eyes on buying my first bottle of this perfume. Did I fall in love with it after my purchase or had I been deceived by the sample? This is my review of Lancome Idole Aura parfum.
I bought it in Autumn, I hardly wore it during Winter and now that Spring has arrived I have started wearing it again.
My first impression when I opened the packaging was ‘What a small bottle!’ I went for the 25ml and the thin bottle makes it look so little. Nevertheless, it looks elegant.
I made the purchase together with a couple of makeup products of the company when there was a discount, but I still considered it expensive. So, you can imagine how I felt when I first sprayed it on my wrist and I didn’t really like it after all! Moreover, after a couple of hours I tried to smell it on my wrist again and there was hardly any scent there.
A couple of days later I picked up a shirt which I had worn and I couldn’t stop smelling it. It had a beautiful, warm scent but I couldn’t remember which perfume it had on. And then I realized it was Idole Aura!
Apparently, it may not be the best match for my skin, but it smells fantastic on fabric. In addition, the scent doesn’t fade easily on clothes.
Description
It’s a quiet combination of vanilla, jasmine and rose.
If I could describe it with one word, that would be ‘fresh’. Its freshness makes it appropriate for younger ladies too.
At the beginning it feels more energetic, later it gets warm.

TOP NOTES : JASMIN RAYONNANT – JASMIN GRANDIFLORUM, ABSOLU DE JASMIN SAMBAC.
MIDDLE NOTES : ROSE SALÉE – ROSE PÉTALE D’ISPARTA, ROSE CENTIFOLIA, ROSE ABSOLUE DAMASCENA.
BASE NOTES : VANILLE MUSQUÉE – VANILLE BOURBON DE MADAGASCAR
The salty vanilla doesn’t make it too sweet. First you get a floral feeling and as it dries it becomes more musky.
Occasion
You can wear it on any occasion. I have worn it for a doctor’s appointment, also at the gym and for an evening out.
Not a bad choice for a gift as it is subtly, not too sweet or strong.
Lancome describes it as ‘Sun-kissed’, but I can say you can wear it all year long. Maybe it’s more easily worn in Summer than other perfumes.
Final thoughts
I don’t regret this purchase, but it won’t be one of my first choices for a next purchase. The biggest disadvantage is the price, considering that I didn’t fall head over heels for this one.
But stay tuned because I have fallen in love with another Lancome perfume which I received as a gift and it has been my favorite since winter.
