This summer, your friends are itching to get out of the city and explore new sights, natural wonders, and hidden attractions. But don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the great outdoors without venturing too far from home. If you plan and prepare a bit, you might be surprised at how close you can get to nature without ever leaving the city limits.
Plan and Scout Out Road Trip Locations Beforehand
This is one tip you’ll want to ensure you do before going on your road trip. Look online for places that are nearby, as well as things that you can do there together as a group. If you can, start planning your trip at least a month in advance; you’ll thank yourself later when you have time to check out some new places and explore some new activities while you’re there.
Find a Hike That’s Less Than an Hour Away
Visit a nearby park or hiking trail you’ve discovered online and looked up when the best times to go are. Plus, you can bring a picnic or other snacks and have some fun activities to do, like camping, fishing, or hiking.
If You Have to Drive, Make the Most of Your Time There
If you have to drive to your road trip location, stop and take pictures along the way. You might be surprised at all the things you can see on the way there and back, and you can make the most of your time there by stopping at nearby attractions.
Rent a Van
If you are planning your vacation with a large group of friends, you might want to consider sprinter van rentals. This will ensure everyone has enough space to be comfortable while you’re driving. Everyone can pitch in with the cost, so it’s an affordable option.
Don’t Be Afraid to Change Your Plans
You might be itching to explore a new attraction, but your friends might be interested in a nearby restaurant or museum instead. Be willing to have some flexibility with your trip. Be open to others’ suggestions on what to do.
Summer is the best time to get out and explore nature with your friends. Even if you don’t have the opportunity to drive out of town with your friends, you can still enjoy the great outdoors by visiting a nearby nature park or hiking trail. You don’t have to travel far to get a taste of nature.
