On 11 September 2001 two hijacked planes plowed into both towers at the World Trade Center in New York. Another plane was flown into the Pentagon in Washington, DC. A fourth plane, allegedly headed for the White House or the U.S. Capitol, was heroically diverted by passengers and ended up crashing in an empty field in Pennsylvania. After reports of the first plane hitting the North Tower, millions watched the second plane hit the South Tower on live television.
2,977 people were killed and more than 6,000 others were injured in the deadliest terrorist attacks in American history.
The following observational documentary details the timeline of events during the September 11th attacks.
Although Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is considered the mastermind of the attacks, there are other theories and questions about the way the two buildings collapsed.
