You have always wanted to surprise your kid, and create a room that’s just magical; but, you may lack imagination and creativity. If you need something to start with, this article can help you. For starters, all you need is a good reason and motivation, and everything else will come to you. Think about whom you’re doing it for and why you’re doing it, and eventually, you’ll do it without a second thought. And who knows, you might end up being called the number one dad in the world. Here are a few tips that can help you build a fairytale kid’s room.
Brainstorm!
Every project requires a lot of preparation. To start with, you have to decide which room you are going to transform, and what exactly are you going to transform it into. Take a notebook and write everything down; see how every potential project would develop and what materials would it require.
Think about your kid’s reaction and preferences. You have to keep in mind that your kid is growing fast and that in a few years, they won’t fit in a small tree house.
The cost of the project
The entire project will be exhausting and quite expensive. But, when it comes to your child’s happiness, one cannot put a price on it. If your budget is limited, draw a line somewhere and work within it.
Use materials such as wood and iron to create metal casting and then shape it and give it form. Think about additional costs, such as tools required to cut iron pipes and wooden planks. Also, consider the electrical bills and everything else that might be affected by this project. Again, this probably won’t be a cheap one, but in the end, it will be worth every dollar spent.
Ready to work!
Once you have everything set and written down, you’re ready to commence the build. Start with the basics, such as drawings on the floor and the walls where foundations will be. Create basic frames and foundations and work your way up. Complete layer by layer from the inside out and once you have the entire frame finished, move on to the next step – customization.
Fairytale-like
The project isn’t over yet. You have to customize it to look exactly like your child would want it to. Place a neat carpet that will resemble grass and place a few stuffed animals on it to mimic wild animals such as a fox, a squirrel, and a bird.
You can also add little details such as DIY butterflies or custom made mushrooms and place them on the side of the tree house. Remember to cover the ceiling with plastic leaves and flowers which will resemble the treetop. Go into every little detail and the more time you invest in it, the better it will be.
Let it shine
Every room has to be cleaned regularly. Dust is everywhere and if you don’t take a few moments to clean it every now and then, the room will become an unhealthy area for your child to play in. The best solution is to use a cleaning product, such as Koenig spray polish in order to make things shine again.
Maintenance is very important and should be done at least once every week. This way, you will protect your child from respiratory and other potential diseases that might occur when hanging around in a room filled with dust and other particles.
Once the project is done, you will be one proud dad. Your kids will love it and your happiness will be infinite. Of course, there is always a chance someone might write an article about it and you become popular. You never know.
