I still remember the first time I saw him on TV. I was around seven when I used to watch 21 Jump Street and although I was too young to understand what was happening on the series, I knew I liked this guy.
He’s supposed to be one of the most handsome men in Hollywood, but that didn’t prevent him from playing roles where he had to destroy his cute image.
It’s been a long time since the beginning of his career. Can you believe that Johnny Depp turns 50 on 9th June? Of course we all grow, so he can’t be the exception.
The youngest people may know him as Jack Sparrow from ‘the Pirates of the Caribbean’, but he has starred in many films since the 1980’s. Personally I’m not a big fan of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean, in fact, I even fell asleep while I was watching one of the films at the cinema.
When I was a teenager, I wrote a couple of essays about him when I had to write about my favourite actor or a film I like. I wrote about ‘Edward Scissorhands’ sometime then and my English teacher asked me to try to write about somebody else for a change. I suppose he was the only person I used to write about!
I haven’t seen all of his films. One of my favourite films he stars is ‘The Blow’.
I like that he never plays the same character and sometimes it’s even hard to recognise him.
I don’t like all Johnny films I have seen, but I can see a film just because I like him.
We have seen photos of him with both long or short hair, with blond highlights, a beard and moustache, with glasses or with a cigarette in his mouth. He always surprises as with a new style.
I’ve been one of his admirers for many years, so I don’t think I will ever change my mind about him.
What about you? Are you a Johnny Depp fan too?
What’s your favourite film of his?
Happy Birthday Johnny!!!
