These days every business is turning to the internet to grow. So they should too, as it’s now the quickest way of promoting your business and bringing someone to what you’ve got to offer. Does this mean that in the near future we will no longer be able to take trips out with our girlfriends to find the perfect outfit? Will highstreet stores no longer exist? Here’s why this theory might become true, faster than you think.
Online food shopping has existed for over twenty years now, and with the improvement of customer service, delivery times, cost for delivery, and also the speed and convenience of the internet, more and more people are taking to doing their grocery shopping online. It’s super handy to be able to do your grocery shopping from the comfort of your sofa rather than having to venture out to buy your essentials. It’s not an unreasonable assumption to think that fast forward another twenty years, will there be any sort of grocery store that you can visit?
You may argue that some people like to hand pick their own food, which is true. Who’s to say that technology won’t develop further, to a point where we’d be virtually stood in the store as it is? Farfetched, but not impossible either.
Who doesn’t love heading out to buy themselves some new clothes? The smell and feel of the clothing stores are unlike that of any other store you enter. Many people are now taking to the internet to buy their clothing instead of having to face the hustle and bustle in the clothing stores. Online stores like Anthony’s have taken the internet by storm with the ease of being able to buy clothing from anywhere in the world. Featuring a wide range of sundresses and tops, it’s almost impossible to miss out on the latest trends.
Many people need to try clothing on, as some stores make their sizes slightly different to others. Online stores now offer size guides to help you buy the right size, and also offer a return and refund service that would allow you to change your mind if the item wasn’t right for you.
Online shopping has also provided us with the ability to buy anything we need for our home on the internet, and have it delivered straight to our doors. If it’s an appliance like a washing machine, some companies even offer the service to fit it for you to save you having to worry about finding someone to do it for you.
There are even services available like buy now pay later, for those of us that need some furniture urgently, but don’t yet have the funds to pay for it. Shopping for bargains has never been easier.
Yes, you read that right. There are now medical services that are available to use that involve the internet. You’re now able to have your teeth straightened, video chat a Doctor for a minor illness, and even hypnosis is available to have via the internet.
Luckily, for major illnesses and injuries there is no way around being treated without being seen by a Doctor or a Nurse. At least not yet anyway.
You’re now able to learn using online services too. What started off with people taking to the internet to learn a new language has now evolved into using the internet first to find the answers they are looking for, before going to the source they should have to begin with.
It won’t be long until whole classes are staged via a conference call and students won’t have to leave the comfort of their own beds to get the education that they want.
The Final Say
As you can see, pretty much everything that we need in life is available to order, experience and buy over the internet. So will highstreet stores become extinct in the future? Will human interaction decrease because of the internet becoming so vastly easy to use? How many jobs will be lost in the process, as well as jobs gained for people online? It’s quite sad to think that as a planet we are shying away from leaving our homes more and more as times goes on.
