Every bride wants to look like the most beautiful version of herself on her wedding day, after all it’s one of the most special days of your life (and plus the photos will be on display forever!) Even if your big day isn’t for a while, it’s the perfect chance to be working towards your dream image as you have plenty of time to look into treatments well in advance. Here are a few of the things you can do that will leave you looking extra special on your wedding day.
Get Your Teeth Whitened
Your wedding is bound to be an extremely happy day, and so will consist of lots of photos of you smiling ear to ear. To look your very best and feel extra special, getting your teeth whitened is a great choice. You have a few different options, you could try out a variety of shop bought treatments and see if any work for you. For more of a dramatic difference, opt for laser teeth whitening or visit your dentist for teeth whitening trays.
Tone Up
Toning up or losing weight is an essential part of the run up to the wedding for a lot of brides. The key is, don’t leave it too late. If you plan on losing a significant amount of weight before the big day, be aware that healthy weight loss is just 1-2lbs a week. Work out exactly how much you need to lose and how long that will take you. Fad diets are never a good idea, and when your wedding is approaching it’s definitely not something you want to do. Starving yourself, ending up binging and putting more weight back on isn’t going to give you the figure of your dreams on your wedding day!
Go Tanning
Tanning for long periods has a number of health risks, and using sun beds is generally something to avoid. However a short course of sunbeds is fine for most people, and even if you’re not much of a tanner it’s worth making the exception on this occasion. A tan makes people look slimmer and healthier, and a gorgeous tanned glow will look stunning against your white wedding dress. Having a base tan is also handy for when you go on your honeymoon too, you’ll feel more confident in your holiday clothes and will be less likely to get sunburnt.
Get Botox?
If you’re considering Botox injections you’ll need to plan ahead. If you’ve never had it done before, you should ideally have one treatment beforehand (botox lasts six months). This means you know what you’re going to look like, and can allow for any tweaks. Then you can have a second lot done a month or two before your wedding, again this will be active for six months so will cover you for your wedding as well as your honeymoon.
Experiment With Makeup
You will more than likely have a professional makeup artist do your makeup on the big day, but even so you’re only likely to get one or two trials beforehand. Experiment with different colours, products and finishes on yourself well in advance of the wedding, that way you’ll have a good idea of what you like and what suits you. Then when you have your makeup professionally done, you can give the artist a good idea of the kind of route you want to take. It’s all well and good looking at bridal makeup photos, but it’s difficult to know exactly what products and colours will look best on your personal skin type without actually trying them yourself. It’s your wedding day, you’re (hopefully!) only going to get one shot at it. While any professional makeup artist should do a great job and help you choose the right look, it’s worth knowing what suits you yourself before you sit in the chair.
