Your Basic Guide to Natural Hair Care

Keeping your hair shiny, healthy, and in great shape is very important. Luckily, there are natural ways to do it. Although natural hair care is such a broad topic, we did our best to cover everything needed for your natural hair care regimen. From choosing a shampoo to protective styling, read this guide for great hair.

You need not run to the nearest salon to get the latest hair care treatment and achieve strong, gorgeous hair system. While it is true that many salon products work for others, for some, it’s the other way around.

The truth is, most of these products contain lots of synthetic ingredients that only strip the natural oils from your scalp and hair, leaving it dry and dull. We’ve got good news for you, though. We’d like to share this guide, hoping this can help improve your current hair care routine.

Eat Healthy

As they always say, your hair is a reflection of your health. If your hair is dry and damaged, there must be something wrong with your health. So, keep your hair healthy by eating the right foods. The next time you eat, be sure to include any of the following:

  • Healthy Fats – Coconut oil, chia seeds, walnuts, and olive oil contain omega 3s that can help moisturize and lubricate the hair.
  • Protein – If you rely on a diet that contains less protein, your hair may become weak, dull, and brittle. Be sure to add protein like eggs and cold-water fish in your diet to help renew, repair, and strengthen damaged hair cells.
  • Zinc – Zinc is vital for hair growth. You can find this mineral in oysters, pumpkin seeds, and spinach.

Keep Your Scalp Healthy

The scalp is one of the body’s most absorbent parts. Believe it or not, it literally acts like a sponge, absorbing anything you put on it. Having said that, if you use chemical-based hair products, the sebaceous glands in your scalp might be clogged. As a result, the natural oils in your scalp that help nourish, protect, and combat infection, will be stripped off, making you at risk for scalp problems like candida and zinc deficiency.

In case you are already suffering any of these scalp problems, your best solution is to use organic and natural hair replacement system products. Though you can’t fix these issues overnight, with continuous and proper use of natural hair care products, your hair will be restored to its natural glory.

Moisturize Your Hair

We keep hearing the word “moisturize” these days, but what does it suggest for our hair? How do we keep our hair moisturized?

First, you have to clean your scalp using sulfate-free products like Osensia. After that, take care of your dry ends with deep conditioning or deep treatments. From there, keep yourself from touching your hair, so that the moisture and oils will stay there.

Keeping your hair moisturized should not be a difficult thing to do, but if you want a quicker option, you can simply use hair care products that are paraben-free and sulfate-free.

Don’t Wash Your Hair Too Much

It’s basic knowledge: Natural hair needs more natural oils to thrive. By using a shampoo that contains chemicals, hair is stripped off its moisture, leaving it brittle and dry. Now, the question is, “How often should you wash your hair?”

The answer really depends on your lifestyle and product usage. If you are using hair care products that are made from natural ingredients, then it’s probably safe to wash your hair regularly. Just don’t try to go longer than a week without a wash, especially if you need to go to work daily.

In Conclusion

You’re probably ready to change your hair care routine for good and make the leap to natural hair. Just keep in mind that going natural does not suggest you steer clear of chemicals and commercial hair care products. What’s important is you know what your hair needs and how to maintain it. That’s pretty much it!
