Don’t Get Caught in the Cold—Prep Your Fashion Style for Winter

Nobody likes to get caught in the cold, especially if you live somewhere that frequently deals with freezing winters. When you need to optimize your style for the weather, consider some of the following tips that you can incorporate into your wardrobe for the season.

Focus on Layering

It is absolutely vital to learn how to layer efficiently for the winter. Layering is always trendy and there is almost never any harm in piling on as many layers as you can for both comfort and a fashion statement. Start with a soft tee at the bottom layer and then work your way up with a Rasta Zip Up Hoodie, a jacket, scarf and/or a coat.

Emphasize Your Boots

No winter outfit is complete without an attention-grabbing pair of boots. Do you have a set of over-the-knee boots that you have been wanting to show off for a while? What about ankle-length ones that can go with skinny jeans? Depending on the style of boots you have, you can plan ahead exactly as you need for your visual statement.

Belt Your Coats

Adding belts to your coats can allow you to create a stunning silhouette while also breathing new life into the way you wear your coats. Never underestimate the importance of playing with different belt options and arrangements. Think about how you can button the coat to draw attention to your neckline and any scarves that you may want to wear.

Add Texture

Playing with texture in your wardrobe can be one of the best ways to not only break up the space visually, bit also by touch. Think about having fur, wool, cotton and tweed set at varying points around the outfit to define your divisions. When you accessorize, you have a better chance of drawing attention to the appropriate sections of your body as desired.

Choose the Right Hat

Though coats and scarves are important aspects of your outfit, never underestimate the importance of having a good hat. Choose a style and texture that you know you will love, and be sure to pick the right color to suit your outfits. There is no shame in having several hats that you can choose form to create a unique look every time you go out.

Plan ahead for your style by thinking about what theme you want to go for. You can emphasize a lot of dark colors or light ones, but always make sure to dress appropriately to avoid getting cold in the inclement weather.
